Real Madrid deny TVE report of 310 million euro offer for Neymar

Neymar carried Brazil into the World Cup quarter final on Monday afternoon, and later in the evening Real Madrid were forced to deny a report that they had made an offer of 310 million euros for the former Barcelona forward.

It has long been the dream of Florentino Perez to bring Neymar to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, especially after having missed out on his signature when he left Santos for the Catalan giants.

Yet a story reported by TVE on Monday evening intimated that a monumental offer of 310m euros had been sent to Paris Saint-Germain by Los Blancos, something which the club have been quick to deny.

"Given the information issued tonight by TVE on a supposed offer for Neymar made by Real Madrid to PSG, Real Madrid can confirm that this information is false and Real Madrid haven't made any kind of offer to PSG or the player," a statement read.

"Real Madrid are surprised that Spanish public television has been able to broadcast absolutely false information without anybody from the broadcaster contacting any involved parties to check the validity of information that would have been denied."

TVE also suggested that the contract offered to the Brazilian would run for seven seasons with a salary of 45 million euros per year.
