First of all, we note that the first similar lamps, made using OLED technology, LG Display company introduced in 2014. Since then, the technology has received many significant improvements. These lamps, in fact, are very stretched single pixels OLED. Being very flexible, they can take the most pretentious shapes, fitting into any interior and allowing you to get soft beautiful lighting indoors.

For the production of OLED lighting panels for new lamps, the manufacturer uses fifth-generation equipment, while their predecessors were manufactured using second-generation machines.

The new generation of OLED OLED lamps is represented by three basic varieties. These three basic varieties differ in form. One of the novelties is square, and the other two are characterized by an elongated shape and have different lengths. It is reported that they are all more powerful than their predecessors in 2014, but there is no exact data. At the same time, the estimated service life of new lamps is higher. For elongated models, the manufacturer claims from 30 000 to 40 000 hours without noticeable deterioration of the light characteristics. Thus, if you use these lamps for about 10 hours a day, then their service life can reach 13 years.

In addition, the possibility of adjusting the color temperature in relation to the time of day, the surrounding situation and other factors is mentioned.

In addition to the home, LG Display also considers other areas of application of these lamps. In particular, the company is currently negotiating with various automakers about the supply of special OLED panels of amber and red for the rear lights.

Mass production of these lighting panels should begin only at the beginning of next year. When and at what price such lamps will appear on the market, it is still unknown.
