Manufacturer of hardware purse Keepkey announced upcoming support cryptocurrency Ethereum. It is expected that the function will be added to the end of the summer.

Expansion Keepkey functionality will be the next big step after buying Multibit purse at the end of May, and as reported by the company's CEO Darin Stenchfild, the decision to support Ethereum was made after numerous requests of developers and fans of this cryptocurrency.

"Demand for Ethereum huge, and we are very asked for it. Recently we were contacted Ethereum developers, and we helped them by providing the resources needed for integration cryptocurrency to our client. The work is going well, and everything should be ready in a month or two, "- he said in an interview Stenchfild CoinJornal.

Shortly after the acquisition Multibit Keepkey team announced the forthcoming integration of the Segregated Witness Protocol, which should also boost the popularity of the product.

Darin Stenchfild also convinced that, since many users of Bitcoin, which currently use different online wallets will make a choice in favor of hardware solutions.

"When you acquire hardware wallet, you must have sufficient funds to justify the purchase. At present, many users do not have large reserves of cryptocurrency because just beginning to take up the Bitcoin. So they set wallets on their computers. We want to help these people, so that in time they will come to understand the need to have a hardware purse. I think, over time, our competitors are doing the same thing. "

In addition, CEO Keepkey believes hardware purses are also important from the viewpoint of elimination of intermediaries in financial transactions, although difficult to forecast as to whether the providers of traditional services, such as, PayPal his recent patent for modular payment system also follow the path of similar solutions.

"This is a difficult question. Traditionally, in the world of Western finance has a guardian of funds and early bitcoin services also followed this strategy, because it was made. But I think that in the long term, we will not need intermediaries. And that's why I think it will appear more and more hardware wallets and our professed approach would be to adopt more and more often. This approach makes the user the owner of the real keys, assets are decentralized and are not stored as any one place ", - added Stenchfild.

Are there any other great hardware purses?

I personally recommend the Trezor hardware wallet. I have the Keepkey, Ledger and Trezor wallets and the Trezor combines the best of all of them IMO.
