YouTube basically has a monopoly on video hosting. I can't wait till Steemit can start hosting video - it will be a game changer. Take a YouTube content creator like black pigeon speaks... You may disagree with his politics, but the dude creates damn good content and gets a lot of views, has a lot of followers, and makes pennies on the dollar. It's about damn time people on YouTube starting getting paid what they deserve to. What's more is that, like this video mentions, they're de-monetizing people's videos. It's f*cking Orwellian, dude lol
