In an astonishing display of courage, internet user EdgyWolf admitted to be wrong in an online debate. After 3 gruesome days of googling and article referencing, EdgyWolf accepted that the opposing site clearly had more sound arguments.
"The articles were written by well paid established news resources. I could never compete with petty blog references and rational arguments. It was evident that appeals to emotion got the most upvotes. I lost." EdgyWolf admitted.
This is the one of the few times we are witnessing such a rare phenomenon displayed online. Internet users from around the world gathered in the public forums to discuss this once-in-a-lifetime event and how it would impact the future of the internet.
In Linda Power's, mother of three, words; "I am shocked. I made sure my children got off school early so that we could browse the live discussion of EdgyWolf's defeat. This has never happened before. I don't know how things will unfold from here on".
For those that witnessed the debate, words can't describe the flow of emotions. Links, videos and references were thrown in every comment while the viewers upvoted and downvoted in order to confirm their own biases. It was spectacular. EdgyWolf and Nostradarn belittled each other's intelligence countless times but clearly Nostradarn had the best punchlines and newest smiley faces. His passive aggressiveness and pseudo-intellectualism could was clearly superior. Anyone could see it.
We asked Nostradarn how he will actualize this once in a lifetime accomplishment. His words were moving: "I will definitely include this triumph in my resume. I am still young and this is something every respectable company values. It can help me climb the career ladder and actually help do something to improve our internet".
In a celebration that will take place in 2 weeks EdgyWolf will be shamed publicly by apologizing to every single user that did not like her arguments. She will say "I was wrong" 14322 times while Nostradarn's accomplishment will serve as a pivotal reference for judging future online debates.
I got into an argument with another steemian in the commets on one of my posts quite a while ago. I kept upvoting my comments on his comments, but never upvoted his comments.
He finally realized that the longer he argued with me, the more money I was making and that I was compensating myself handsomely for putting up with his bullshit. He himself was earning nothing from his time spent arguing with me.
I must say that it took him a while for the inanity of the situation to dawn on him.
But he has never commented on a post of mine since :-)

When I first started posting on Steemit , a Guy made a really scathing remark about what I had written. My first impulse ( as in my youth) was to punch him. I then realised that he was halfway around the World . I earn more for authoring than he does for a snotty remark, so who cares? Interesting Post, Thank You! Lesson learned here , is " Why get involved in Online Debates?"

More folks should reacquaint themselves with humility and the cleansing feeling when you apologize. It is like a weight is lifted. I feel one cannot fall on their sword enough. If more folks did this it would be a better place and perhaps we might feel peace in this old world. Go out and when the time is right try it. I feel it make my life healthier and less stressed. It is nice to be real. Thanks for the subject and wonderful blog.

ok i guess i marry her this happens once in a million.
To tell you the truth i won't compliment her about her ''courage'' as i think in this situation it's just plain stupid. She did something logical and correct that's all and well down, i salute that.
she just followed logic, if we end up saying to everyone acting stupidly by not admitting things that the one time that admitted something well done you had the courage is like giving them too much credits for their stubbornness

Just between you and me, I have been wrong too.
And I admitted it.
There was this one time I admitted it, and it has forever been haunting me. So, admitting you are wrong, to the wrong person was not a good thing.

Hats off to the woman. It takes a lot of courage to admit you’re wrong, especially to online communities. I’m sure they’ll be forgiving considering her apology to each of them. I tend not to argue with folk on the net because there’s always someone who acts like a keyboard warrior or can’t see beyond their own logic.
