Trudeau Government Sends Invite To Man Convicted Of Trying To Assassinate A Cabinet Member

in news •  7 years ago  (edited)

Canadian Sikh Jaspal Atwal, convicted of trying to assassinate an Indian cabinet minister in 1986 attended events with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his visit to India.

Atwal attended a prime ministerial event with the Indian film industry in Mumbai on Tuesday, where he posed for photographs with Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau.

A senior official from Justin Trudeau’s office says an invitation to Jaspal Atwal was a mistake and was corrected as soon as it was found out.

If the government invites convicted assassins to their events, how can we trust them with the safety of this country?
