Have you ever wondered what the Qur'an thinks about aliens?

Does the Qur'an give clues to living beings in space?

Head of the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (Lapan) Thomas Djamaluddin said that not only astronomers believe in extraterrestrials.

"Al Quran also hinted the existence of such intelligent creatures," said Djamaluddin told Kompas.com, Thursday (17/05/2018).

One of the letters in the Qur'an that holds the clue to the existence of extraterrestrials is the letter of Asy-Syuura.

The 29th verse of the letter states, "And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the creeping creatures which He proclaims on them, and He is All-Powerful to gather them when He will ".

According to Djamalludin, the letter implies the existence of a moving creature other than on Earth, also in the sky or outside the Earth.

However, there is no scientific evidence they have ever come to Earth.

Meanwhile, according to Al Muayyad Surakarta boarding school KH M Dian Nafi, Surat Al-Jasiyah 45: 13 also explains the habitable planet signals outside Earth.

In the letter it says, "And He hath subdued for you what is in the heavens and what is in the earth all, (as mercy) than Him: verily in that are indeed Signs for the people who think ".

"It is possible that a planet can be inhabited because the celestial bodies are billions of miles, and the word" subdue "means that humans can also utilize all the heavenly bodies for science and human interest," he said.

Thomas revealed, during this time astronomers continue to seek a world that supports life.

A number of new planetary search missions are performed. In fact, there is a mission to capture the signal from life in space that is believed to exist.

"Of the billions of galaxies, there are billions of stars and in the star there are planets, it is not impossible of the planets there must be something like the earth," he said.

According Djamaluddin, in the search for a habitable planet is usually the astronomers require three things, namely temperature, water content, and the presence or absence of organic elements.

"The distance the planet with its star will determine the temperature on the planet, and if the temperature can keep the water in a liquid state, it will continue to know whether there is water content and organic elements, a sign of life on a planet," he said. (Kompas.com)
