The next version of the Microsoft office suite forgets the Lords versions, there is bad news for Office fans who still use "old" operating systems: the next Office 2019 will only run on Windows 10.
On its official site, Microsoft has published several details about the new big launch of the office suite, starting with that it will be released for sale in the second half of 2018, although the previous versions will be distributed in a limited way in the second quarter of 2018
And more importantly, Office 2019 will work only with Windows 10, Windows 10 Enterprise (LTSC 2018) and the following LTSC version of Windows Server. All other backward operating systems should continue with the old Office or look for alternatives.
"Office 2019 will have five years of mass support," adds Microsoft, "and approximately two years of extended support. This is an exception to our adjusted lifecycle policies to align them with the Office 2016 support period, through October 14, 2025. "
Office 2019 will come with the typical: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Skype for companies. And the truth is that at corporate level or in companies using this type of "installable" programs can be trivial, but for many individual users, Google Docs became the header suite.
In a separate note and totally unrelated, just released a new version of Libre Office. Old Windows and will only be available in 10.
