Deiveson Figueiredo defended his UFC featherweight title after drawing with Brandon Moreno. In another duel, Tony Ferguson was overthrown by Charles Oliveira
UFC 256 presents the battle for the UFC featherweight world title between Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno. Moreno challenged Moreno as the champion belt holder at UFC APEX, United States, Sunday (13/12/2020) afternoon WIB.
The battle was arguably balanced in the first two rounds. The two fighters exchanged punches and kicks.
Moreno several times tried to take down Figueiredo. However, this Brazilian man can always escape Figueiredo's lock
The duel was stopped in the third round because Figueiredo kicked Moreno's groin. Afterwards, Moreno appeared neatly in attacking Figuieredo with a combination of jabs and hooks.
Figueiredo, who was overwhelmed, tried to stay afloat against Moreno's attack. In the last round, Figueiredo began to dominate the duel because the intensity of Moreno's attacks began to decrease.
The jury then decided to end in a draw or majority draw (47-46, 47-47 47-47). The draw made Figueiredo successfully defend the belt of world featherweight champion.
In another duel, Tony Ferguson faced Charles Oliveira in a lightweight fight. This is Ferguson's first appearance after losing to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 last May.
Oliveira immediately attacked Ferguson with the key in the first round. At the end of the first round, Oliveira's locking could even break Ferguson's hand if the bell for this round ended without ringing.
In the next round the situation did not change much. However, on one occasion Ferguson was able to hit a shot while trying to hold on to Oliveira's lock.
His kick made Oliveira's temple bleed and the duel had to be stopped. When the match resumed, Oliveira remained more dominant in launching attacks.
Ferguson was able to survive until the third round ended. However, he lost in absolute numbers to Oliveira (30-26, 30-26, 30-26)
