Six-minute lithium battery recharge for phones and cars on way

We can no longer use the excuse of the time it takes to charge the battery, so as not to buy an electric car.

A UK-based start-up called Echion Technologies will market next year a technology that allows the charging times of lithium-ion batteries to be greatly reduced.

Apparently, researchers have developed a type of powder or salt that replaces graphite inside the cells of lithium batteries and this improves rechargeability.

The electrolyte commonly used in lithium batteries is lithium salt, a material that can be flammable when subjected to very fast recharge times.

Simply replace the lithium salt with this "secret" ingredient and the batteries can be charged, as advertised, in 6 minutes.
