Nikki Haley‘s response to a condescending remark calling her “confused” is being praised on social media.Hitting the Sunday talk show circuit, the United Nations Ambassador spoke about new sanctions that were supposedly set to be announced the following day by the White House. The sanctions were to be in response to the recent chemical weapons attack in Syria, and target Russias companies that may have facilitated the Syrian regime’s chemical weapons program. However, when Monday came and sanctions weren’t announced, Haley was in the hot seat.A report stating that President Trump had actually halted plans for new sanctions came instead, and was followed by a press conference given by National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters, Kudlow said, “She got ahead of the curve. She’s done a great job; she’s a very effective ambassador.” But the part that stood out to those listening was when he said, “There might have been some momentary confusion” on Haley’s part. Haley, who’s known as one of the more reliable representatives of the Trump administration, might have been undercut by one of her peers — but she didn’t stand for the mistreatment.“With all due respect,” Haley began in a statement provided to Fox News, “I don’t get confused.”Her response has received viral attention online, with women commenting on the condescending tone of Kudlow’s statement and noting that it reflects men’s sexist rhetoric in workplaces everywhere. As it turns out, the attempt to cover up the administration’s mistake by mentioning a woman’s “confusion” was not well received.

I know it was like 12 news cycles ago at this point, but @nikkihaley quote "With all due respect, I don't get confused" should go down as one of the best by a female leader. Ever. Said so much, with so few words.— Dana Bash (@DanaBashCNN) April 18, 2018
Larry Kudow to Nikki Haley: "Hush, dear, men are talking"— Gary McLean (@garydmclean) April 18, 2018
.@wendyrsherman: Probably every woman watching this has been in a situation where a guy has thrown her under the bus…Nikki Haley stood up for herself…and it's a lesson to Kudlow and hopefully others in the WH. She's disciplined, she's a workhorse, she deserves respect. #AMR— Andrea Mitchell (@mitchellreports) April 18, 2018

Reports that followed said Trump was in fact watching Haley announce the sanctions on Sunday night, after having already sent out information about them to to surrogates. Trump later made the call to halt any actions, leaving Haley in the dark.

When powerful men like Larry Kudlow & Donald Trump can't keep up with their bullshit lies: No sweetie, you just got confused.Strong women like Nikki Haley: Bitch please, I DON'T GET CONFUSED. Step aside.#NikkiHaley #TrumpCircuspic.twitter.com/dsPULUM8si— nicki (@nickiknowsnada) April 18, 2018

“She was certainly not confused. I was wrong to say that — totally wrong,” Kudlow told the New York Times. “As it turns out, she was basically following what she thought was policy. The policy was changed and she wasn’t told about it, so she was in a box.”
