Reporters Without Borders has filed a formal charge of crimes against humanity in a German court in the name of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In addition to bin Salman, four other high-ranking Saudi officials have been named in the case. Allegedly, the Crown Prince and the accused Saudi officials ordered "widespread and systematic torture" of the country's journalists. Has been killed. An example is the involvement of Prince Salman in the assassination of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khasogi on Turkish soil, citing media freedom around the world.

A 500-page complaint filed in the Federal Court of Justice in southwestern Germany's Karlsruhe says at least 34 journalists have been forcibly detained in Saudi Arabia. Journalist Jamal Khasogi has been killed. These journalists have been subjected to extrajudicial torture, sexual violence and murder.

Many have been forced to flee the country. Especially the journalists who were vocal against various corruptions and irregularities of the government and the royal family are angry with Yuvraj.

According to Reporters Without Borders Secretary-General Christophe Deloire, the country's journalists have been subjected to widespread and systematic repression at the behest of Prince Salman and accused Saudi officials. He said that the systematic torture and killing of journalists was a crime against humanity.

The four accused are Saud al-Qahtani, a close adviser to Prince Salman, Ahmad Asiri, Mohammed al-Taibi, the former consul general of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul, and Maher Mutreb, a Saudi intelligence official. The US administration has imposed sanctions on Saud al-Qahtani and Ahmad Asiri.

Reporters Without Borders says German law has jurisdiction to prosecute international crimes committed on foreign soil. Even if there is no minimal involvement of Germany in these cases, it is possible to judge under German law.

Christian Mihar, director of the agency's German branch, said: "We hope that the German court will soon begin an investigation into the allegations. If necessary, an arrest warrant may be issued in their name.

In 2016, Jamal Khasogi was assassinated inside the Saudi embassy in Turkey. The United States has recently released a US intelligence report on the killings. The report mentions the involvement of Saudi Prince Salman in the assassination of Khasogi. It is said that Khasogi was killed after the approval of 35-year-old Prince Salman. Khasogi had to give his life for writing against the royal family. Shortly after the report was released, German courts charged bin Salman and other senior Saudi officials with crimes against humanity.
