Pacer Junaid Khan and opener Ahmed Shehzad were dropped from their place. Pakistan also excluded Imad Wasim from the series. Other left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz has been replaced instead of Ima.

The first match of the five-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand starting in Wellington starting January 6.
