Canada takes stand on US ban policy

in news •  8 years ago  (edited)

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has taken stand on social media stating that his government is commited to bring in people those who are victimized by the war and terror. Within hours his tweets were shared about 150,000 times and welcome to Canada is trending on twitter. On Friday US President Donald Trump signed executive ban order suspending the entry into US from Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya, and Yemen for 90 days. US refugee entry has also been suspended for 120 days and those fleeing from Syria has also been suspended until further notice. Mr.Trudeau has avoided to comment on US policy on Muslim ban as both have different views. Canada has planned to allow 300,000 immigrants into Canada in 2017. Say Hi to your hero Castro for me, Justin.

I've been to Toronto, Canada once; very nice city. Hope it stays that way before the migrants come a knocking and mess everything up like they always do; especially in France, Germany, Italy, and Britain. My god, when will these pricks learn that multiculturalism DOESN'T WORK!!!!???

canada already has millions of muslims living there for many years.. could you be any more ignorant or full of fear? man what a sad existence to live riddled with fear that statistically/logically is unfounded and makes no sense LOL have fun. Bet the earth is flat for you too?

I rather live with fear and being on alert because of that fear, than being in denial and thinking that terrorists are not gonna strike because Trump is blocking migrants from entering America. I'm not saying all Muslims and migrants are bad, but the fact of the matter is that America cannot support EVERY GODDAMNED REFUGEE THAT COMES INTO THIS COUNTRY!!! There has to be a LIMIT to whom comes here.

And what the hell does the "earth is flat for you too" have anything to do with this discussion?

Blocking Muslim entry will not solve any purpose to solve security issues in US when there are still mass shooting still happening.

It may not solve any purposes, but at the very least, it shows Trump is taking action regarding our borders; unlike that "other guy". America simply cannot afford to take in EVERY refugee from a foreign country; regardless of whether or not if it's the result of economic collapse or war. It just can't.

Yes i agree with your comment that US cannot take refugee as it will put more burden on its economy but on matter of security IMO Mr. Trump should have banned Arms in US to prevent mass shootings

racist foreign policy doesn't work either but that doesn't stop Trump. Multiculturalism has its problems but there is no strong argument that it doesn't work across the board. Canada and the US are countries built on immigration, stopping it with racist policies does more harm than benefit. Toronto has been a culturally diverse city for as long as I can remember, as are many other cities across the country. We somehow manage to get along.

What's the matter, ran out of debatable juice? For someone who loves their country so dearly; not to mention mass migration, I would've thought you had a little more of a backbone in your views.

I guess I was wrong.

Admittedly, it is kinda racist, but what does Canada have to gain in allowing more migrants into the country? Isn't Trudeau aware that social services are finite, not infinite? The more migrants they take in, the more strained the country's social services system will be; just like in the US. Yeah, migrants may manage to get along, but how long is that gonna last when there's overcrowding and people won't have enough food and shelter to survive?

you are making an assumption that all migrants and refugees get on and remain on social services. Sponsored migrants which, is the vast majority are not allowed on to social services. Their sponsor(s) have to support them. That has a tendency to move them into the workforce sooner aka become tax payers.

With the current birthrate in this country, immigration is needed.

What about Canadian citizens; the ones that are unemployed? Would they be happy a foreigner taking their job? Of course not. So why can't the Canadian government provide for it's own people instead of foreigners? Sure, migrants can become taxpayers, but the fact of the matter is that Canadians aren't too keen on foreigners replacing them in the workforce.

"with the current birthrate in this country, immigration is needed".

Wrong. Canadian citizens with jobs are needed, not foreigners. Can you give me a reason why there's a problem with Canada's birth rate? Any statistics? Factual data, perhaps?

I only engage racist bigots like yourself at a minimal level. Beyond that, it is a waste of my time and energy. You want to hold forth about my country, do your own research.

I'm a racist bigot? LOL!!! I'm not against people wanting a better life, what I'm against is politicians like Trudeau allowing thousands of immigrants into the country; putting their needs ahead of his citizens. How can you not see that?

probably the same way you can't seem to get your head around the fact this country was built on immigration and we gain more by having them than by not.

Unless you happen to be a First Nations person... then the difference between you and the person just arriving is how many generations you've been here.

So you don't mind if you have a family and are struggling to make ends meet, then you get fired and replaced by foreigner that will work for much less than what you were being payed for. Let me know how that works out for you IF you experience such a situation.

in this country there are laws against that happening. Maybe you need to focus on better, more equitable laws that keep businesses in line instead of penalizing people who need a new start.

Focus on equitable laws? Why? How is that improving the situation that your country and quite possibly other countries that may face the same situation? Where is the public outcry from your country regarding mass migration? You represent only a small majority that wants mass migration, but I don't think others agree.

Canadians debate the issue but there is no strong isolationist movement like appears to be going on south of the border. Most Canadians recognize that being racist, bigots solves nothing.

Oh, and by the way, a mosque in Canada was shot up by a lone gunman; leaving 6 dead, several others wounded. Here's the link if you're interested.

So tell me, do you really think most Canadians are in favor of multiculturalism?

So one out of 36 million determines that most Canadians are not in favour of multiculturalism? Get a life. You want to see the real Canada, take a look at the responses from Canadians across the country.

Not that you really want to see out of your bigoted worldview.

Only the ones that don't use violence against Muslims. And I have seen Canada. It was very clean and the people friendly. However, that's all gonna change very soon and not for the better. You claim my views regarding migration is bigoted. Not at all. It's that migration needs to have some form of control; your PM is losing control of the situation and some Canadians are using violence to voice their views; not that I condone violence in any way, shape, or form.

That is the result of politicians implicating mass migration and multiculturalism and shoving it down their throats. Where was their voice on the issue? None.

Of course being a racist bigot doesn't solve anything; I'm not one either. But you have to draw the line concerning the well being of your country; PM Trudeau is not doing either of you any favors whatsoever. You need to clear your head and realize the danger you and your country are in.

The only danger my country is in is from the likes of you and your so called non-bigotry ... carry on with destruction of your own country

Your paranoia clouds your judgement; might I suggest you re-educate yourself on the pitfalls of mass migration and how the only way a nation can maintain sustainability is by balancing the needs of the citizens in addition to migrants.

Canada has sustained itself quite nicely for over 150 years thank you very much. IF not being a bigot is paranoia... whatever floats your boat. Enjoy your delusions.

And just how is Canada gonna sustain itself in the NEXT 150 years? Bringing in more migrants who would work for less than what Canadians are usually paid for? Outsourcing jobs; forcing Canadians to rely on government assistance; never mind the fact that the more migrants they bring in, the more strained those resources will be; not to mention overcrowding and lack of housing/space for these migrants?

"Enjoy your delusions". LOL!! You'll be enjoying your delusions alright with a nice, cold bottle of Scotch as your savings dwindle and forced into either living with your folks or on the streets.

Take your pick.

Yawn... way too much wasted energy on the likes of you ... bye bye

good for him
but he is still a statist scumbag, but good for him on this issue

Justin Trudeau doesn't have a clue and neither do you.

Typical Trudeau with his usual automatic pitch as our Prime Canadian brand salesman.

He'll go at the airport to meet with the refugees, but he won't bother to visit the family of Canadians killed abroad by terrorists.

It happened approximately one year ago:

...Richard was not impressed with Trudeau when the prime minister rang him up Monday, three days after the attack which killed his wife, Maude Carrier, and five other Quebecers.
"My prime minister called me and began speaking in such a canned manner, wishing me good luck, offering me his condolences and talking about them as a source of Canadian pride," he said.
"That's when I told him to stop his political blabbing.
"If he's going to call me, then at least he should know who the Carriers are. It wasn't out of Canadian pride that they were doing what they were doing but rather because they were basically good people."
