Ford Motor Company wiping out most of their models. THANKS FREE TRAITORS!! (not!)

I'm tempted to say "you get what you deserve," as this company's management would absolutely be chastised extremely harshly by its founder were Henry Ford still alive. They've totally forgotten that it was America (and American workers) that made this company great, and have gone mostly off shore for sourcing (starting 40 years ago now) and actual assembly as well. Here is a link about their extreme downsizing:

Here's an excerpt (less than 50%) from the above:

"Ford said it won’t invest in new generations of sedans for the North American market, eventually reducing its car lineup to the Mustang and an all-new Focus Active crossover coming next year. By 2020, almost 90 percent of its portfolio in the region will be pickups, SUVs and commercial vehicles.

That means the end of the road for slow-selling sedans such as the Taurus, Fusion and Fiesta in the U.S. The automaker conspicuously left the Lincoln Continental and MKZ sedans off its hit list, but since those models share mechanical foundations with Ford siblings, their futures also are in doubt."

This is just another example of how globalism is ruining our manufacturing base, if you ask me. Sure, President Trump is making a few minor inroads, but what he is doing is like trying to cover gaping wounds (from the treasonous "free trade" policies of his eight predecessors) with band-aides. It can't be done. America's heavy industry is probably gone forever. And the same can be said of many consumables that are not heavy industry.

With so many iconic models that are household names across America hitting the dustbin of history, Ford Motor Company will never be the same. Sad...just sad.

I think this is going to backfire on Ford. Gas prices are going to rise again, and will drive people back to fuel efficient vehicles and away from the gas guzzlers that are now going to be the only thing you can find in a Ford showroom.

Couldn't agree more D&S...

Hey..can I get your email?...or if you're already emailing Jon, can you ask him to forward the stuff I sent him this AM. Pretty important....

I haven’t been emailing him, but my address is [email protected]

I'll email now. -jonboy

this is extremely sad!

Isn't it?...and you know, the saddest part is, after 30 years of treasonous "free trade"policies that have totally devastated our nation, not one of those people advocating for it (or benefiting from it) has ever gone to prison--or is likely to do so.

who are they? what Americans are benefiting? and can it be redone, the trade policies?

Who are the free traders?...The Heritage Foundation who wrote NAFTA, the Rockefellers who claimed they would give us a major deperession if we didn't allow it, the Congressman who passed it, the corporate CEOs who took all our factories and job offshore as a result...basically, everyone in Washington, D.C. and Wall Street.

Who is benefiting? All those same people, plus the factory owners overseas and their nation's leaders and economies.

Can it be redone? Of course, but you need a POTUS who does more than talk about doing it, as this one has done repeatedly.
