She Has The Longest Fingernails In The World! 🤤

A woman from Houston Texas has been named the person wirh the longest fingernails by The Guineas Book of World Records for 2018.

This story was reported by The Huffington Post.

"When it comes to long fingernails, Ayanna Williams has nailed the world record .

Williams, of Houston, Texas, has fingernails with a combined total length of 18 feet, 10.9 inches, making her the current Guinness World Record holder in that category.

The previous record holder, Chris “The Dutchess” Walton, had nails that were 19 feet, 9 inches long, but she was scratched from the record book after she cut them, according to a Guinness spokeswoman.

Williams is officially fingered as the new fingernail champ in the 2018 edition of Guinness World Records, which was released today.

My Perspective

If her combined nail length is almost 19 feet, her individual fingernail length would be just short of 2 feet!

So how does one live life with 2 foot long nails? I don't see her doing much of anything, like swimming, washing her car, cooking a meal, washing her hair, opening a door, etc.

People are crazy enough to get their name in The Guineas Book of World Records. She must have sacrificed so many things in her life to achieve this record. But I do not think any big accomplishment in it.

And yet there are soooooo many other ways to get attention that do not involve essentially removing the normal functionality of the hands. How much do those freakish nails weigh? Wowowowowoza! And how many years does it take to grow them.

Full disclosure: I cut my nails short. I have for most of my life. I did try to have longer nails and polish them on the regular. Too much work and not that satisfying. I am a "Tom boy" at heart, so more time outside, please.
