Margaret Thatcher's government had a nation splitting dispute with coal mining unions which resulted in the coal industry of the UK effectively being ended. The workers went on strike there were riots and the goverment actions are percieved to have led to a greater class divide in Britain.

The coal industry giant perpitrator of carbon emmisions was halted by the Amazonian first minister of Britain. This has led to the UK's first woman prime minister being the best loved hero of the enviromental movement.
