There is no initiative to free 22 students

Two private universities affiliated with no initiative have been asked about the release of 22 students arrested in protest against attacks on safe road activists. None of the arrested students have been granted bail; Rather, the court rejected the bail application of four on Sunday.

Parents of arrested students say that their children were not involved in the incident. Police arrest them without any evidence. And the police say that the evidence that the students were involved in the violence was in their hands. However, the arrested students did not receive any information related to any political party. They are now looking into their details in the area by taking permanent addresses.

On August 6, students of Bashundhara Residential Area and Aftabnagar area protested against the demand for a safe road. On that day, Badda Police Station 14 and Bhatara Police-Police arrested 8 students from Badda thana. The arrested students are private university East West, North South, South East, BRAC and some university students. The next day police took them on two days remand. After the remand, the court ordered them to go to jail.

Bhatara Police Station filed the case with the names of 12 students. Of these, 8 are arrested. The remaining 4 fugitives. If you want to know, the investigation officer of the case Sub-Inspector Hasan Masud told the first light, the investigation is going on. Work on identifying students involved in attacks and vandalism by collecting CCTV footage is underway. In this case, the university authorities assist them in all kinds.

However, on condition of anonymity, an officer of the Bhatara police station told the first light that they collected footage of CC cameras from various non-governmental organizations in North South University and its surroundings. Because the footage is good, the face of the students participating in the movement is also evident. They are trying to create a list of these. If the senior officials are instructed, the next step will be taken.

The investigating officer of the Badda Police Station, Julgash Mia, said that the students of the remand were victims of vandalism and attacks on the police. But they are still unclear whether they have any political involvement. They have contacted the concerned police station to search every student's village home. More information will be known from there.

Asked whether there is any initiative from the university regarding the release of the students, East West University Registrar Mashfiqur Rahman said in the first light, the university authority has not told anyone about the matter to be done about this matter.

And North South University spokesman Belal Ahmed said in the first light, the parents did not have any contact with them. They will do as much help as possible through the law.
