On June 28 the crisis in Venezuela escalated to a new level when a few members in the government dissented and decided to attack two major government institutions: The Office of Interior Ministry and The Supreme Court. This attack was conducted by a former police intelligence officer, Oscar Perez, who was flying a police helicopter while another on board deployed small arms and dropped grenades. Although there were no casualties, this particular event very clearly displayed the disintegration of Venezuela’s government; and the ominous future that it may succumb to.
