Diplomats told Reuters that the UN Security Council vote would discuss a one-page Egyptian-composed resolution and compelled the United States to withdraw its unilateral claim to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

They said the draft resolution was supported by a majority of 15 members of the UN Security Council. However, they acknowledge that it is unlikely that the resolution will be accepted, because the US itself has the right to veto to reject the draft approval.

In order for the resolution to be ratified, at least 9 votes from members of the UN Security Council and without veto from the five permanent members, namely the US, France, Britain, Russia and China are to be held.

Current UN Security Council members are Bolivia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Senegal, Sweden, Ukraine and Uruguay.

The draft resolution was drafted by Egypt after Arab foreign ministers agreed to bring the issue of Jerusalem to the UN Security Council.

Jam was condemning a unilateral US decision on Jerusalem, the draft resolution urged that all UN member states not build diplomatic missions in Jerusalem.

The US diplomatic mission at the UN has not commented on the vote and the draft resolution. But the US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, previously publicly praised President Donald Trump's move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

"This is a fair and appropriate step," Haley said in response to Trump's announcement on Dec. 6.

Jerusalem is one of the most important issues in the Palestinian struggle to escape Israeli occupation. Palestinians want to make East Jerusalem the capital of the country.

But the area had been annexed and claimed by Israel in the 1967 war. Israel's claim has not been recognized and accepted internationally.

The U.N, although they do play the game of war with high respect to their Public relations/ image, they are of course biased. It is important to see the U.N was largely funded by the Rockefeller and Rothschild's. Today, almost every large organization is target to corruption. The U.N is simply another player.
