Russian nuclear submarine tests Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile in Kamchatka Far East.



A submarine for a nuclear strike Russia tested four Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) in sequence. The missile is claimed to be able to reach the United States (US).

The dangerous firing test took place in Kamchatka Far East, yesterday.

Project Borei-class ship Yuri Dolgoruky fired four Bulava missiles that reached the target set at Kura, thousands of miles away in the Far Eastern Kamchatka region.

"This test ensures the combat readiness of the strategic Submarine Project 955 Borei and Bulava missile system," the statement said the Russian North Fleet's press service, told TASS news agency on Thursday (24/05/2018).

This is the first time a Borei-class submarine has launched four intercontinental ballistic missiles in a single "volley".

Trial testing of previous Bulava missiles was conducted on June 26, 2017 from the Barents Sea.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has also released a video showing the launch of the Bulava missile, which has a range of up to 5,770 miles.

The Bulava missile system is intended as the basis for the future of the Russian nuclear triad, namely nuclear missiles that can be deployed by land, sea and from fighter aircraft.
