New year is not always celebrated on January 1st. Like the new Persian-following year. The new year called Nowruz is celebrated every March 21st.
Like Imlek, some countries in such as Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, Iraq and Iran also celebrates Nowruz. Nowruz has been a Persian New Year since 2010. Nowruz marks the start of spring.
