Chinese-Indian Stand-off at Doklam Border

in news •  7 years ago  (edited)

For the readers who just learn about the standoff. India and China have been involved in a two month stand-off at the Doklam plateau of Bhutan. The ongoing tensions relate to the construction of a road by China in Bhutan’s Doklam region. Bhutan had protested against China’s action, and asked for help of the Indian government. The Indian Army then moved to the area of construction, stopping Chinese activity. China have hardened its stance on the issue, telling India to stop intervening in the border dispute between China and Bhutan. China even mentioned India to learn from the consequences of the 1962 war. At the moment the Chinese military has an submarine deployed in the Indian Ocean and the Indian Parliament is talking on the issue during their monsoon recess and are trying to keep their heads cool.
