Tens of thousands of Australians have taken to the streets of the island nation in protest of the annual Australia Day, the national holiday celebrating its colonialization by British settles in the late 1700s. The holiday is seen as an insult to the country's indigenous people, who had been living on the island for roughly 65,000 years before the country was taken over by the British. Reports states that some 25,000 marchers have descended on Melbourne to voice their displeasure.
