An inconvenient truth or a convenient lie? Climate Change: Al Gore to Donald Trump

in news •  7 years ago  (edited)
President Donald Trump has withdrawn USA from the Paris Accords.
What do you think?

Is climate change an inconvenient truth or a convenient lie?

I am Al Gore, and I used to be the next president of the United States of America.
Al Gore

During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.
Al Gore

Al Gore

The day I made that statement, about the inventing the internet, I was tired because I'd been up all night inventing the Camcorder.
Al Gore

A zebra does not change its spots.
Al Gore

As human beings, we are vulnerable to confusing the unprecedented with the improbable. In our everyday experience, if something has never happened before, we are generally safe in assuming it is not going to happen in the future, but the exceptions can kill you and climate change is one of those exceptions.
Al Gore

Donald Trump

I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.
President Donald J Trump

The salesman

I came to the conclusion that we should aspire to increase the scope and scale of human consciousness in order to better understand what questions to ask. Really, the only thing that makes sense is to strive for greater collective enlightenment.
Elon Musk

Has not closed everyone

It's a well-kept secret, but 95 percent of the climate models we are told prove the link between human CO2 emissions and catastrophic global warming have been found, after nearly two decades of temperature stasis, to be in error. The real agenda is concentrated political authority.
Global warming is the hook.
Maurice Newman, chairman of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott's business advisory council, in The Australian

Because of a swindle?

Fighting climate change is a global consensus, it's not invented by China... and we realise that this is a global consensus agreement and that as a big developing nation we should shoulder our international responsibility.
Li Keqiang , Prime Minister, China

And the opportunist

To all the scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and responsible citizens who were disappointed by the decision by the president of the United States, I want to say they will find in France a second homeland. I call on them — come and work here with us, to work together on concrete solutions for our climate.
Wherever we live, whoever we are, we all share the same responsibility to make our planet great again.
Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron, President, France

Google search tells a climatic story.

The good thing about scientific consensus is - it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, it's happening.

Is there a scientific consensus on climate change? @linerosist

Agree

DISCLAIMER: I do not support either of the big political parties in the USA, they are two-parts of the same fascist machine...

You know .. there is this thing called objective truth, as opposed to regurgitated misrepresentation. Yes, Al Gore is part of the establishment .. tobacco growing privileged southerners, and ya... maybe there is still room for debate on climate change (I do not think so .. like most learn-ed folk), and it's all irrelevant anyhow, because the planet is ultimately doomed and we must get off it.

There is one thing that can not be denied however, Al Gore, before entering the White House, was a great proponent of Internet, and related technology, and a MAJOR reason Internet was opened up for public use, far sooner than it would have otherwise. He championed and supported numerous bills which indeed brought about the Internet we know and love today (and can not exist without).

The interview in which he obviously suffered a slip plays a very great disservice to all that he did do. We should all be held accountable, be open to criticism, but attacks that have nothing to do with REALITY, do not serve anyone .. it just takes us all further down a hole from which there is no escape.

You're spot on, @kurtbeil

Al Gore does deserve significant credit for the internet that we have today.

We don't think, as some people have argued, that Gore intended to claim he 'invented' the Internet. Moreover, there is no question in our minds that while serving as Senator, Gore's initiatives had a significant and beneficial effect on the still-evolving Internet."
Vint Cerf & Bob Kahn

Al Gore had seen what happened with the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act of 1956, which his father introduced as a military bill. It was very powerful. Housing went up, suburban boom happened, everybody became mobile. Al was attuned to the power of networking much more than any of his elective colleagues. His initiatives led directly to the commercialization of the Internet. So he really does deserve credit.

I think climate change is a real thing.

I also think the reasons pushed and promoted as to why it is happening and who's responsible are based in monetary and political power matches... lots of misinformation.

"Follow the money."

Yes. Climate changes. @denmarkguy
The issue is what policies are mandated, based on global warming.

When looking at the climate change issue, I'd like to think without the political mumbo jumbo and just think in a smaller scale.
You know it's happening.
What are YOU doing about it?
People need to be aware that regardless of their political inclinations or lack thereof they are contributing to climate change and they have the power to stop or lessen their contributions to it.

What are YOU doing about it?

Here are some things that everyone can do, @luvabi

@lifeworship brought this interesting vid to my attention today:

😄😇😄

@creatr

Thank you, @creatr

They do what ever they want - such an ignorance! Time to get the power back....

They do what ever they want

That's what they hope to do. SanjaB

Followed you, @sanjabudin

I don't think it's real because the solutions they offer are all about giving them more power and taking more money from us. If they really cared, they would make all green investments tax free, so green businesses could thrive and have more breathing room for R+D. These people don't care about us at all. We are sheep in need of fleecing in their minds.

Vladimir Putin agrees with you. @trevorlyman

I agree....The whole carbon tax thing is a scam.....as is companies who buy credits from companies that don't emit a lot of co2 thereby being declared carbon neutral.......

The whole carbon tax thing is a scam

Yes it is, @dasczecher

Thanks the Al Gore interview just showed his narrow mindedness and inability to answer a straight question.

The Chimp thingy was a little strange!!!

Following you!!!

Thank you, @dasczecher

Climate Change is just a lie?

Well yes and no!

It is a lie in the sense that 'we' are able to change the earth's climate with a trace gas CO2 (that's not even a very strong greenhouse gas). The most important greenhouse gas is water vapour and without it we'd be screwed....like freezing our butts off.

So what causes 'climate' change......The Sun (changes in solar activity) and the earths orbit around the sun....'The wobble effect' aka Milankovitch cycles

Is climate change a proxy for the _New World Order? _ @daczecher

'Climate change' via human made CO2 emissions is the guise that the UN promotes. Of course, the UN has the solution, but first we must pay over astronomical sums of money in the form of carbon taxes and then become enslaved to them, being stacked into small self contained units within high rise tower blocks. Travel must then be restricted to all but the few. AGENDA 21

Of course, the UN has the solution,

Like this? @dasczecher
For refugees

Pollution... Even if its indirect. By producing less pollution we can change the total amount of sun energy that is held within the atmosphere right?

The primary thing about the Paris climate treaty is about CO2 emissions which are a trace gas and a very important one at that that is required by all plants and photo plankton on this planet.

With respect to the other sh*t that cars, factories etc spurt out on a daily basis, couldn't agree more, this type pollution needs curtailing with respect to air quality..

But Trump has noted that the US is unfairly disadvantaged by the deal.

Of course, we must pollute less. @nicnas In an ideal world, all our power would be solar or OTEC

Very much agree.

I hope for a time when solar power is accessible to homes without the need to rely on major energy distributors to make it happen.

I dont see this being a huge issue at the moment because usually with these companies you can get everything free. Installation and hardware. They do this because the solar power unit usually produced more than whats needed. This allow many who are unable to afford the investment to start using clean energy.

This could be one place @luvabi @nicnas

Where is it free?
I live in the Philippines. Probably not here?
Great initiative. I'd love to be part of it.

Climate Change is just a lie?

Of course, climate changes. @nicnas

The issue is what conclusions are drawn from it. More importantly, what actions are mandated based on climate change.

I used to believe Al Gore when his movie came out in 2006. Then again why should I worry about global warming when in California the government is spraying nano metal particles in the sky then the HAARP like programs are focusing radio waves at these nano metal particles heating up the sky wanting to cause drought. Well I heard the the global warming program costs $100 trillion. You mean we have to pay $100 trillion world wide to spray nano metal particles for Climate Warfare that also poisons the people and we have to pay for it? Yes let's drop out of that program. I don't want to pay that much money just to poison the people including myself. Let's save money and be more healthy.

Let's save money and be more healthy.

Yes. @david777111

@nigelmarkdias
I don't believe climate change is a valid problem in our world. I think it's used to promote a specific agenda!

I think it's used to promote a specific agenda!

This could be it. @breakingtonight

@nigelmarkdias
Yes indeed!
