Even if a pen is made free, one has enjoyed something free. The money for the pen could be used for something better.
The annoying part of this, is most of you people claiming to be from the North have never even stepped foot there not to talk of stay there.

Do you know what it means to climb a tree to pluck shia nuts, berries, dawadawa, etc. to eat as lunch so you could stay in school. Do you know what it means to be sacked from school or denied education all because you can't afford the fees or other logistics? Do you know what people go through in school without provisions and if they were to miss school dinning what will happen to them? If you know the hardship family goes through to get their wards to school, you wouldn't be on Facebook speaking rubbish. Forgive me for my tone but it is a hard time people know what it is they can play politics with and what must be cherished and removed from political propaganda.

Do you know some families used to stay in the sun at the market just to sell a fowl, goat, or grains just to raise school fees to send their wards to school? Do you know what it means to have parents insulted and humiliated in public because they owe money they borrowed to send their children to school? I can go on and on!
In fact, some comment coming from some people including the NDC concerning the free SHS is injurious and an enemy to the state and the plight of people.

They say facilities are inadequate. When has there ever been sufficient anything for anyone? Even the almighty USA cannot boast of satisfying all their educational needs nit to talk of Ghana.

What is studying on the floor to a boy who has escaped the bush and the hot sun, or hardship and shackles of poverty, just to be in school to study and hopefully elevate the financial status of his/her family in the foreseeable future God willing? Only those who have had silver spoons in their mouths will complain about the Gari and Beans served in school when they should be focused on studying hard to later have the luxury of the kind of meal they wish for.

Look, we all wish for luxury. In fact, left to me, there should be heaven on earth and the floors of our schools should be gold plated. But the reality is that that is not or might never be possible. Until we work to try to make the impossible possible by addressing all our educational infrastructure or logistical nightmares, there are people who must be educated and can't afford it now. What happens to them? Must we ignore them and focus on infrastructure or what have you?

Those with varied reasons against Free SHS should rethink. For a hungry stomach does not consider the taste of the food until it is satisfied.
Long live Ghana and God bless us all
