Elon Musk to build Giant Lithium Batteries.

in news •  8 years ago  (edited)

Lithium ? We don't need giant Lithium ion batteries.... we need something better. Something safer and something people can actually afford to use in their homes. We need to stop creating and storing energy and then transporting it thousands of miles by wire. We need something safe that can be used in every home and every home have the ability and technology to create and store their own power safely.

Musk says he will solve the energy crisis in Australia with his giant Lithium batteries. I think we need smarter people developing a better technology than lithium.

Maybe something we have in abundance here on earth. Maybe something like Salt water....

Very dangerous for explosions. However there is a guy developing a lithium battery with different materials with the lithium that you can cut into pieces and it doesn't catch on fire or explode or stop working in tiny pieces. It looks like a insulated postage envelope. It was on nova. I believe he's using vinyl instead of metal. Let me see if I can find it and attach it here for you.

Excellent. Thanks !

No problem. More information the better we learn the more we more forward :)

lithium ion batteries are pretty lame really... when i drove a new nissan leaf the range was around 100 miles... after 2 years it was down to 70 miles... if they had a longer lifespan they might be ok but as it is they just suck. there are better ways of doing it, designs with higher energy density, longer life, and less toxic ingredients... shame we can't buy them yet.

Agreed.

He's gonna explode the world!!

Or at least Australia. The fires will be catastrophic.

What ever happened to those bloom machines, bloom energy servers, thought that would be big thing by now.

It's looking like a scam. A quick Wiki search shows that they sold out and now that company is just looking for California tax credits.

The more I read about Musk, the more I'm convinced he's coo coo crazy.
Can those batteries help him get to Mars faster?

Maybe he got inspired by Qatar's giant vagina stadium?

Don't be hating on God's beautiful design work.

I'm not hating, I love God's beautiful design work.

and this came off a lithuim battery post lol LMAO......
