The US has been trying to provoke Russia into a conflict since the coup in Ukraine, which the US was directly behind. Why? To prop up this failing economy and use the opportunity to remove anyone that threatens the US's world superpower status. It's an absolutely batsh*t insane foreign policy that will ultimately backfire, in my opinion. Good article.

I will have to look for the quote, but if my memory is correct a German during the Nuremberg trials explained how the state gets people who really just want to stay home raise a family etc. to go to war.
One other thing is that the government has promised more then they can deliver, and one of the only ways to get out of those promises without riots is real war.
