I could not believe this could be true, but here is the report and below is the recommendation from page 102 of the report.

Could a Supreme Court of America judge really support pedophiles by recommending the age of consent be lowered to 12 years?

I must say, I find this disgusting...
There are currently just three countries whose age of consent is 12 (Mexico, Angola and the Philippines). Even the Vatican, which is notoriously plagued by pedophilia, raised its AOC to 18!

I find it worrying, that a justice of the Supreme Court would even propose such a thing. Any justice, who would come up with something this stupid, should resign, regardless of gender, but I don't know if the law would require her to step down.

Supreme Court judges are appointed for life - so the judge herself has to decide to step down.

I know about the appointment for life, but is there something as a "vote of no-confidence" when everyone thinks, that one particular justice is doing a terrible job?

I don't believe that this would have created a nationwide age of consent of 12 years old, because the state legislators have always decided what the age of consent is to be in each state jurisdiction. It looks like a fragment of a law pertaining to prepubescent children similar to that of Jessica's Law that was ratified in Florida so many years ago for the purpose of protecting small children against sexual predators like John Couey. I will read the report again in its entirety to be sure.

I know that your main concern is the safety of adolescents. Realizing that I have just walked into the lion's den, I will not debate too much over the definition of pedophilia. However, even though I emphasize that I am just as anti-pedophile as you are, I will still say that the argument over how pedophilia
should be defined continues to be a slippery slope among mental health professionals to this very day.
