Robert Mugabe, the man who has presided over Zimbabwe for nearly past 40 years, has been sacked as leader of the ruling Zanu-PF party and told to walk out as head of state by midday on Monday or face impeachment by parliament.
Zimbabwe State television said President Mugabe would address the nation from State House on Sunday night, fuelling talks that he was about to resign.
Zanu-PF betrayed Mr Mugabe as its head on Sunday and replaced him with Emmerson Mnangagwa, whose dismissal as Zimbabwe’s vice-president happend last week’s military takeover.
