News Sources –
In this day and age, and for the past five-plus years, I’ve avoided the legacy/mainstream media. Someone recently asked me what news sources I watched or listened to. Thus, the list below.
As I look back, I know that we’ve not subscribed to a newspaper of any sort for 10 years or so. We’ve opted for alternative sources of news.
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t rigorously check for the accuracy of some of the news stories that I might share. There are those individuals who have a history of getting stories correct and therefore I trust their track record.
The list is by no means exhaustive or complete. The list is also subject to change with or without notice. Given the fluid nature of the news cycle and recommendations from friends and other similar sources, I’m always on the lookout for new sources.
I see this akin to my reading habit. I find an author I like, and I’ll likely binge read the books of that author. After either getting tired of the author’s genre or finishing a series, it’s off to find another author.
As with anyone’s list of things and stuff, this is not the be-all and end-all of my news reading. In this day and age where clickbait headlines and hyperbolic rhetoric I find there is often an insufficiency of quality journalistic reporting. Many who write these days have little if any knowledge of the 5W’s and H. ie: who, what, where, when, why and how.
Take a look at the list and hopefully, you’ll find a new source of news for you.
