Lloyds Banking Group Plc declared on sunday that they would be banning purchase of bitcoin with lloyds credit cards.
From monday any attempt to purchase cryptocurrency will be blocked. However customers can still purchase with debit cards.

"The banking giant, which includes Halifax, MBNA and Bank of Scotland, is thought to be the first in the UK to ban credit card customers from borrowing to buy the cyptocurrency, which has more than halved in value in recent months."

”Across Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland, Halifax and MBNA, we do not accept credit card transactions involving the purchase of cryptocurrencies,” a company spokeswoman said in an email.

Apparantly lloyds is concerned customers may get into debt because of the volatility of crypto markets, Yea right, since when was your bank looking out for you? lol.

"British Prime Minister Theresa May has said Britain should take a serious look at digital currencies such as Bitcoin because of the way they can be used by criminals."
