United Airlines flight 895 from Chicago to Hong Kong was not even halfway through its flight when it was forced to land due to a "passenger smearing feces everywhere". A passenger wiped excrement along the sides of the cabin bathrooms and tried to shove his shirt down one of the toilets reported witnesses. The captain decided that the issue was enough to force a diversion and headed towards the Alaskan city of Anchorage. FBI agents and Airport police met the unnamed passenger, who had cooperated with flight attendants after the episode aboard the Boeing 777. Airport police said the man was taken to Providence Hospital for a psych evaluation and no charges were immediately filed.The Boeing 777 ended up having to be grounded overnight whilst the aircraft was disinfected and cleaned up. United Airlines has yet to comment.
