The DS7 Crossback is the first SUV we have seen from the premium French automaker. We saw the rebirth of DS back in 2010 with the arrival of the Citroën DS3, thanks to the successful sales and growing range in the last couple of years, such as the DS4 & DS5. DS has become its own brand, but is still part of the PSA group.
Next year we shall see the arrival of DS’s first SUV, the DS7 is to be a premium option for someone looking for a French SUV if you don’t fancy a Renault Kadjar or a Peugeot 3008. But how much will this premium DS vehicle cost, well it’s not what you would call affordable. The DS7 will come in at just over £42,000! Approximately the same price as a relatively equipped Audi Q5, this means the DS is going to have a lot of competition, it will have to be on par with its VAG and JLR rivals.
From what we have seen the Crossback is serious about being premium, stylish and sporty. The distinctive styling with the addition of chrome, LED rear lights and very special directional headlights, which have a few party tricks. Really do put it a cut above the other cars which the group have produced. It almost appears to be a concept car because of its unique styling.
The interior felt very well put together finished with high quality materials; leather everywhere, high quality touchable plastics and metal switch’s and trim pieces, the DS7 really does feel premium. The centre console is dominated by a large landscape display which will almost certainly control the cars settings, heating controls and infotainment. The car is large and spacious in the front and rear, no problem for 6ft adults. A large boot also helps making the car extremely practical. A range of petrol and diesel engines will soon be available, and a hybrid model is going to follow later in 2018.
We hope that next year we will be able to get behind the wheel of the DS 7 Crossback and bring you what it's like to drive in one of our video reviews and full road test.
Interesting. I'm not too familiar with French cars so recently when I was seeing a lot of vehicles with the DS logo in Denmark I thought that Citroën had changed logos since I could tell they were related. This explains it for me.
I'd have to see this particular model in person to decide on my rating as far as style and presence but it looks good in these photos.
