JOHN CENA is no longer the favourite to win the Royal Rumble on January 28 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Shinsuke Nakamura is now the superstar most likely to stand tall in the men’s over-the-top-rope battle royale.
Cena seemed like the odds-on favourite two weeks ago and many expected him to challenge the WWE Champion at Wrestlemania and break Ric Flair’s record of 16 world title reigns.
But I now expect Nakamura to be at the main event of the Showcase of the Immortals instead on April 8, 2018 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Roman Reigns is the second favourite and Cena has now dropped to third place.
the Royal Rumble match.
If The King of Strong Style prevails then that could set up a long-awaited dream match against WWE Champion AJ Styles.
The two men have been teasing a possible match down the line since last June at Money in the Bank.
The Phenomenal One is putting his title on the line in a 2-on-1 Handicap match against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in two weeks.
It is almost certain that the winner of the men’s Royal Rumble match will challenge the WWE Champion as Reigns looks set to challenge Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34.
