Blood Moon 2018 (Lunar Eclipse) tonight, will be a special treat for everyone eagerly waiting to see this event. Humans all across the world within a short period of time (tonight) will be able to see the Blood Moon 2018 (Lunar Eclipse).

Blood Moon is a rare event, which will last beyond around 100 minutes. Larger shadow will be over the earth because earth will be farthest distance from the sun & Moon will also be at greatest distance from Earth.

Let us learn about Blood Moon / Lunar Eclipse.
Due to sunlight scattering, Moon accumulates a deep red color because no direct sunlight can hit moon during this period, the light which reaches to the moon gets automatically bounce back to Earth. This light passes through Rayleigh scattering as it passes through Earth's atmosphere. Resulting in, scatters the longer blue and violet wavelengths more than the shorter red and orange wavelengths. So, red & orange light reaches the moon and is bounces back to Earth & we can see deep red blood moon.
