Pompeio is under investigation for alleged violation of federal law

CBS reported that two top House Democratic leaders confirmed on the 26th local time that the US special prosecutor's office had launched an investigation to determine whether Secretary of state pompeio's speech at the Republican Congress during his visit to Jerusalem violated federal law, CBS reported.

According to the report, Eliot Engel, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and nitaloy, chairman of the Appropriations Committee, confirmed the above-mentioned investigation, focusing on whether pompeio violated the hatch act. The law regulates the political activities of employees of the executive branch."As we get closer to this year's election day and he inevitably returns to election politics, Mr. mcppenpeo is increasingly reckless in abusing State Department and taxpayer money as a tool of government and to satisfy his own political ambitions." Engel and Roy said in a statement that the US State Department has missed the deadline for submitting pompeio's speech documents.

According to CBS, in August, pompeio addressed the ongoing Republican National Congress through video recording at a hotel in Jerusalem. Pompeio was visiting the Middle East and Africa at the time, the report said.

After pompeio "appeared" at the Convention, the New York Post reported that pompeio became the first Secretary of state to address a National Party Congress in 75 years. According to the "hatch act" promulgated by the United States in 1939, except for the president and vice president, federal government officials are prohibited from participating in political activities while performing their official duties. Although the U.S. State Department has guaranteed that pompeio's speech in his "personal capacity" will not violate the "hatch act", he is still accused by the media of not only affecting diplomatic work, but also suspected of violating the law when he is performing his official duties.
