Web hit: Superdry clothes are selling well online
Fashion leaders Superdry, Ted Baker and Quiz became the latest High Street names to boast of improving sales after embracing online.
Superdry, known for hoodies and T-shirts featuring Japanese characters, said digital growth lifted sales in the 26 weeks to October 28, 6.3 per cent compared to the same period a year earlier.
Online business increased 32 per cent, with a significant boost from mobile sales, up 70 per cent year-on-year.
It plans to boost its trendy credentials by linking up with pop stars for its marketing.
Upmarket brand Ted Baker revealed sales increased 9 per cent over Christmas, boosted by a 35 per cent leap in online sales which now represent three in ten of its purchases.
Ray Kelvin, founder and chief executive, said Ted Baker was in a good position to continue its recent sales success.
Fast fashion brand Quiz also reported that online sales accelerated, with orders through its website and third-party online retailers soaring by 199 per cent in the seven weeks to January 6.
