Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Rohingya problem has become complicated by the ongoing military campaign and violence in Myanmar's Rakhine. Rohingyas are entering Bangladesh every day.
In the short run, due to the arrival of a large number of Rohingya, they have to provide security and humanitarian assistance. But it will not be possible to keep them in Bangladesh for a long time. Bangladesh faces 'unprecedented crisis' on humanitarian assistance of millions of helpless Rohingyas and returning to their own country. But I firmly believe that with the help of the international community, we will be able to solve this problem by peaceful means.
In the 18th session of the 10th Parliament, he said these questions to the Prime Minister in a question-answer session in response to a question written by Md. Abdul Matin (Maulvibazar-2).
The leader of the parliament said that the situation is very important now than any time in the past. Bangladesh is making extensive diplomatic efforts to convene a special session in the United Nations Human Rights Council. Their investigative team has already supervised the situation of Rohingya refugees who successfully took shelter in Cox's Bazar. They expressed their concern that human rights in Myanmar are severely violated. Apart from this, the demand for implementing the recommendation of the Kafi Annan Commission is to be called by everyone today. In the meeting of the Security Council, he called on Myanmar to take action to implement the recommendation.
The Prime Minister said that for the permanent solution to the Rohingya crisis, I gave specific directions to the United Nations 5-point. So far, six meetings were held in the Security Council on this issue. In the last meeting held on 6th November, it has been said that all Myanmar citizens, who were forcibly expelled, will have to arrange to return to their homeland. Referring to the bilateral discussions with Myanmar to take back Rohingya who have taken asylum in Bangladesh internationally, she said that the demand for the abolition of Myanmar's ethnic killing in Bangladesh has been universal demand today. He said, we have succeeded in strengthening the support of the international community in Rohingya Issue. The Prime Minister said emergency resolutions were resolved to solve the Rohingya problem at the 173th IPU conference held in Russia. The CPA conference held in Dhaka has urged the international community to take urgent steps to solve the Rohingya crisis. He also said that the main origin of the Rohingya problem in Myanmar and its solution must also be done to that country. From the very beginning of the Rohingya Rally, Bangladesh has been saying that Myanmar must take its citizens back.
