The success of the film Parasite at the 2020 Oscars was able to shake the world. Parasite is the only non-English film that has won the 2020 Oscar 'Best Picture' category.
It seems that not everyone likes the success of the Parasite film, including the president, Donald Trump.
In his speech in Collorado on Thursday (20/02/2019) yesterday Donald Trump openly expressed his objection to the victory of the film Parasite.
"How bad was the Academy Awards this year? Did you see them?" Trump said,
"And the winner is… a film from South Korea! What was that about?" he continued, imitating the style of the presenter when giving the Oscar winner announcement.
"We have quite a bit of trouble with South Korea in trade. Besides, they gave him the best film of the year. That's good? I don't know. Come on Gone With the Wind. Can we get Gone With the Wind back? Sunset Boulevard. So many films. great, "he said, mentioning several film titles.
"The winner is from South Korea. I think it's Best Foreign Film, right? Best Foreign Film? Has this happened before?" he continued, continuing his speech
While Donald Trump criticized the film, the distributor of the film Parasite in the United States commented on this.
