Security experts draw attention to the rapid growth in the popularity of digital currency mining programs among hackers, which we can now call hacker-miners. Using social engineering and standard hacking methods, cybercriminals install computer viruses in consumer systems, and their computational power is used to extract crypto. There are growing attacks on corporate servers.

Last month, several botnets for hidden digital mining were unveiled, with Monero and ZCash being the most preferred. Experts have calculated that these networks are generating about $ 30,000 per month for their owners.

In a number of cases, malware hackers penetrate computer systems through vulnerabilities. But the most preferred way is to infect the system through adware installers that are distributed through social engineering. For example, on​ social networks and elsewhere, there have been reports of easy online profits, and it is proposed to download a demo program for that work, however, it used to extract a digital currency without the user knowing it.
