Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the main construction phase of the nuclear power plant at Ruppur, Ishwardi in Pabna. He inaugurated this work today with the first concrete molding in his hands at 11 am on Thursday. Bangladesh has been listed as the 32nd largest producer of nuclear power through.
To complete the construction of the power plant, the contractor company will receive 66 months or five-five years from today's Atomstraxex. Accordingly, in May-June of 2023, the first unit of the center's 1,000 200 MW capacity and the second unit of the same power will be launched the following year.

However, after the signing of the Intercontinental Cooperation Agreement with Russia on November 2, 2011, the work of this project has been accelerating. Six years later, the work of the main construction phase started today. Through this, Bangladesh is included as the 32nd member of the world's nuclear club. At the same time, Bangladesh has entered into the list of the sixth and SAARC third nuclear power project implementing countries.
