BJP-ruled states not giving their support to the Central Government on e-rickshaw

The central government is planning to promote e-rickshaw as a public transport in the cities and metropolises of the country, but the other aspect of this issue is that the government is not getting any support from the BJP-ruled states.

According to a report published in the Hindi newspaper Navbharat, the states which are not getting the government together with regard to this policy, some of them are BJP-ruled states, while some states also have NDA allied governments.

In this regard, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that in the case of e-rickshaw, the states which do not make the process easy, can be legally binding on how to be banned.

Sources in the ministry have said that in the meeting on the difficulties regarding the registration of e-rickshaws and their drivers across the country on Monday, the fact that nine states are such that due to the local transport departments, There is no single e-rickshaw registration.

The surprise thing is that in this itself, the home minister of the transport minister himself is Maharashtra. In Maharashtra, leaving only Nagpur, there was no single e-rickshaw register. Similarly, this is the same condition of BJP governed Goa.

There is no registration in Jammu and Kashmir, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh and Karnataka. On which Gadkari says that he will soon try to resolve the issue of GST rates on e-rickshaw In the meeting, Anuj Sharma, Chairman of the E-Rickshaw Committee of the Ministry informed that there is such a system in RTO that it is difficult to register e-rickshaw.

For this reason, e-rickshaws are being run illegally in UP, Delhi and West Bengal cities. Such rickshaws have not been registered. The circumstances of the capital Delhi are similar. Registering here is 35 thousand e-rickshaws, but there are about 12 lakh e-rickshaws running on the roads.

On the other hand, some states have kept huge fees for registration of e-rickshaws whereas in some places, e-rickshaw drivers are having huge problems in getting a driving license. Although e-rickshaws are environment friendly, subsidies are not given for this.

There is no doubt that e-rickshaws are the best means of local transport and they deliver the destination to the people in a low budget. E-rickshaw also does not harm the environment, but running them on the roads without registration requires death.

The government will formulate a comprehensive policy on e-rickshaw and implement it. This is the best way on which all states should cooperate with it.
