$76 Million To Be Invested In African Innovations I Tech Gist I

A recently held technology fair in Paris showcased many African talents and innovations. This expo centers on bringing entrepreneurs of innovative start-ups and investors together. Some of these innovations showcased included,

  1. An Africa's technological innovation called "InTouch", which is a mobile phone application (mobile money) developed in Senegal, aids half of over one billion of all the financial transactions on mobile phones worldwide.

  2. "Zipline" is lifesaving technology that uses drones to deliver blood to people in hospitals in Rwanda, shortening delivery times to just a few minutes.

  1. "GiftedMom", Also an award-winning technology which provides health solutions to pregnant women by text messages. this is an application which contains information for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and vaccination.

Alain Neff, one of the founders of 'gifted mom' stated, “I think the biggest problems today in Africa are going to be solved by business, and not by development'

French President Emmanuel Macron who was accompanied by Rwandan President Paul Kagame at the tour said at the conference, 'innovation on the African continent is primary to meeting challenges ranging from climate change to terrorism" and he pledges to invest $76 million in African startups.
