In five years, three quarters of new cars will be connected to the Internet, but not all of their owners will use it.

According to forecasts of BI Intelligence in 2015, only 10% of all cars sold will be equipped with access to the worldwide network. In five years the share of connected cars will increase to 75%. To this end, automakers and high-tech companies have already begun cooperation to provide users with all the functions that are now available on smartphones.

BI Intelligence estimated that the total number of connected cars in 2020 is 220,000,000, but only 88,000,000 owners will use the provided Internet access. Now the prices for such cars are out of reach of the majority of potential buyers - on the average at a level of 55 thousand Dollars. This, experts noted, is related to the slope of the automotive industry in the category of expensive models.

Analysts predict that in the future in Internet cars it will be possible to transfer music, watch movies, receive warnings about road and weather conditions.

Among manufacturers, two approaches prevail when releasing connected cars. The first is built-in systems. The second is the retrofitting of already existing models. According to BI Intelligence, the first approach will win, because it will provide users with a wider range of capabilities.

Аналітики прогнозують, що в майбутньому в інтернет-автомобілях можна буде передавати музику, дивитися фільми, отримувати попередження про дорожніх і погодних умовах.

Серед виробників переважають два підходи при випуску підключених автомобілів. Перший - вбудовані системи. Другий - дооснащення вже існуючих моделей. За прогнозами BI Intelligence, перший підхід переможе, тому що він забезпечить користувачам більш широкий набір можливостей.
