Google Launches News Initiative To Combat Fake News

in news •  7 years ago

Alphabet Inc’s Google is launching the Google News Initiative, to weed out fake news online and during breaking news situations, it said in a blog post on Tuesday.

The changes come as Google, Facebook Inc and Twitter Inc face a backlash over their role during the U.S. presidential election by allowing the spread of false and often malicious information that might have swayed voters toward Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Google said it would launch the news subscription with the Financial Times, the New York Times, Le Figaro and The Telegraph among others. The search engine said it plans to add more news publishers soon.

Well first you have to identify the fake news. Hilary was the first one to use the term. Trump turned it on CNN. I don't watch the ones that are wrong. Nobody can predict the future, but a news station should be able to judge something that is worthy of all day 24/7 coverage. A year of 'Trump collusion with Russia' and it is now closed with zero evidence.

The guy tried. I give him that.
