Talk of The United States Supreme Court has been going around a bunch. There's plenty of worry over what old legal precedents might be in trouble with a switching of power inside SCOTUS.
Many of our problems could start to be addressed through the reversal of Citizens United which led to corporations being considered persons. That decision and other amendments have led to corruption in all sectors of government.
A couple years ago I wrote an article on a Political Action Committee trying to get money out of politics through a constitutional Amendment passed at an article 5 convention. Wolf-PAC.
There was always those that spoke of the risk of a runaway convention being too risky.
Is that some form of the perfect being the enemy of the good? How long do we wait until we collectively see it as worth the risk?
Perhaps it will never be worth the risk. This isn't something that opens up the Constitution for mere editing... It could lead to the Constitution sounding, and meaning something, far from what we know of the Constitution today.
I covered it a lot and I'm here to spread it out before you and I. Interviews with a local Wolf-PAC leaders, a Washington State Senator & more from my past reporting on the subject.
Then, I'll reach out and compile some news interviews! This project is also to see how long form journalism works on the platform! I'd love to get involved in any communities that cover or support those sort of things so hit me up!
Then, we'll look at American Legislative Exchange Council ALEC and their plan for the convention, laid out in the right-wing best seller The Liberty Amendments.
I like the subject matter for sure. I wasn't sure on your pitch until I read this to the end. I'd be interested for sure in hearing more and we have a mutual adversary in ALEC.
To stay ahead of the corporate monied interests, people need to have a better grasp on where the money is going - If your project can do that in long form and long term - I will support it with whatever help and support I can muster.
