Floods with a height of about one meter hit a number of villages in the Samudera District, North Aceh Regency, Saturday (11/17).
It is not yet known exactly whether there were fatalities due to the flood, until now BPBD and SAR including the TNI-Polri in the North Aceh Regency area are still carrying out data collection in the field.
along the Medan - Banda Aceh crossing, precisely in Samudera Subdistrict, there is an average of 50 centimeters of water inundated. Many two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles cannot cross the road because the water flow is quite heavy.
Likewise dozens of homes have been partially flooded. Currently residents are still trying to save children and other property because they are worried that flooding will continue to increase.
"I do not know exactly, this morning suddenly the water rose and it seemed like this was water from the overflow of Krueng Geudong. But here the weather is very bright, maybe due to rain in Bener Meriah Regency so that the river overflows, "said Mulyadi, one of the Geudong community leaders.
Communities in several villages in Kecamatan Samudera are currently trying to save valuables to higher areas. Residents looked panicked because of the many household items that were washed away by water.
In addition to the Geudong area, floods have also been reported in the Matangkuli District area. According to the Head of Matangkuli Subdistrict, Zulkifli, this flood is caused by the overflow of the Kureeng Keureuto which often occurs every year.
"I just returned from the field to review a number of villages due to flooding. Floods began to overflow since this morning. We are currently in the data collection of material losses, "Zulkifli said when met by media crews.
