Chuck Baldwin: on Trump's recent foolhardy statements on 2nd Amendment

As I thought!...That it wouldn't take Trump long to crumble into neocon rinos-ville if his feet weren't held close to the fire.
..and conservatives gave Trump one pass after the other...like a cucked husband by his cheating wife.

Trump could never have been true to the Constitution without a strong showing from the People that, that, is what we want. ...but conservatives went straight back to cheering in their sleep, just as they did when Bush was president...instead of being vigilant.

Donald Trump is set to enact more gun control. I predicted this back in October. It didn't take long.

During a White House press briefing yesterday, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed that President Trump is going to ban "bump stocks" and "other" similar devices.

She said he is also going to enact greater restrictions on background checks for gun purchases with a focus on "mental health." She said this measure was being proposed by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT). Murphy is one of the most rabid gun control zealots in the U.S. Congress. He and his gaggle of gun grabbers have been trying to get "mental health" language inserted into background checks for gun purchases for years.

Think about it: the gun control regulations that Murphy and Company were NOT able to pass during Barack Obama's administration, they apparently are going to pass during Donald Trump's.

And get this, when asked if Trump supports reinstating the 1994 - 2004 "assault weapons" ban (which he used to support), Sanders said, “We haven’t closed the door on any front.” That's hardly the response one would expect from a committed pro-Second Amendment president.

And what will Second Amendment advocates do about Trump’s new gun-control measures? If the last year is any indicator, they will do what other so-called conservatives have done when Trump violated his oath to the Constitution and broke his promises to the American people: NOTHING.
