Israeli flight attendant in coma after getting measles - CNN

Apparently Dan Larimer doesn't understand the concept of "herd immunity" - the other day on Twitter he was claiming that if you are pro-choice you should also be pro-choice when it comes to vaccines because "it's you health after all"

Indeed, it's not just your health. If you don't vaccinate, and you get infected, you can become an existential threat to the people around you and you don't even know it.

Unfortunately, many people argue that way...
Wondering if organ donation would be a better comparison.
Many find the thought of donating after death unseemly, but I bet they wouldn't say no to a new heart if they needed one.

Maybe airlines should require vaccination record for flights. Schools requiring it for attendance etc. Sure you can have "my body my choice" - just don't expect to avail of services that would involve you being in close proximity to a large group of people. Those people surely should have the right to not be exposed to serious contagious diseases.

Logic fail:

If you're vaccinated you have nothing to worry about.

Also the myth of herd immunity, as if the population was ever vaccinated in such way for herd immunity to ever exist. Lastly, vaccinated people actively shed the disease for months after vaccination and so called immunity requires vaccinations with booster shots every 5 years.

That's not logic, that's a falsehood. No doctor will say that a vaccine gives you 100% immunity. We only have "nothing to worry about" when immunity rates are collectively high enough to prevent contagion spreading.

Also the myth of herd immunity, as if the population was ever vaccinated in such way for herd immunity to ever exist.

What are you saying exactly? It's not a coherent objection to herd immunity.

Lastly, vaccinated people actively shed the disease for months after vaccination and so called immunity requires vaccinations with booster shots every 5 years.

Nonsense. Boosters help to improve immunity above a single vaccination; you don't need to keep getting them repeatedly after the second. The only vaccines you need to update over the years are for those with seasonal strains (the flu).

Why should anybody understand the concept of herd immunity when the population was never vaccinated in such a way that it could be considered herd immunity, and none should mindlessly agree with a concept that has the implications of invalidating people's rights.

Now I really appreciate Dan.
